Tho entries for the third annual festival of the New Zealand Competitions Society are said to bo coming m very well, and tho secretary reports .that there is now no doubt that the. total will greatly exceod that of last year. Mr. C. N. Baeycrtz, who is at present judging at Ballarat, and Mr. Harold Gregson are adjudicating over tho principal sections, whilst Mr. Chas. Wilson, of AVellington, is judging the literary sections. Entries close on September 30.

Th'o AVairarapa Automobile Association has derided to hold motor-cycle races at Tauherenikau, provided the course could bo secured 011 Saturday, December 28. Mr. W. Howard Booth has signified his willingness to donate a gold medal for the AVairarapa Championship race, and his offer has been accepted with thanks.
