REPORT PROMISED,
A long and exhaustive investigation into tho question of shunting was pro-; mised in last year's RaiU-ays State-j ment. In his statement to Parliament yesterday, tho Minister of announced that the investigation hadil been made with tho result that some) valuable information had been colleotedl which was being gone into by the Gen.-] eral Manager and tho principal Depart-J mental officers. Tho Minister added! that ho hoped Bhortly to lay a report on the subject before Parliament, and. to bo able to take such steps as. will minimise tho danger to which shunters are subject.
