AISGILL RAILWAY DISASTER.
DRIVER CHARGED WITH
MANSLAUGHTER.

London, September 23. A sensation has been caused by the finding of the jury at Carlisle, which inquired regarding the death of Sir Arthur Douglas, who succumbed to injuries sustained in tho Aisgill (Yorkshire) railway disaster. The Coroner, in his summing up, said thero were vital issues at stake. Tho statements! by Caudio and Fellows (driver and fireman respectively of the second train, which overtook and crashed into the stationary express) conoerning the signals were astounding admissions of negligence. Ho directed the jury to find that death had been caused by neglect, principally on Caudie's part. Caudio was committed for trial on a chargo of manslaughter. Tho verdict is tlio more notable since the Leeds jury, at the inquest on Lindsay on Monday last, found that Caudio and Fellows had not been guilty of culpablo negligence. THE STRABANE AGCIDENT. DRIVER AND FIREMAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. London, September 23. In connection with tlio recent derailment of an excursion train at bane. County Tyrone, Ireland, resulting in the death of one passenger and injury to thirty others, Neil Fullerton, driver of the 1 train, and William Doherty, tho firoman, charged with running the train at excessive speed, have been oommitted for trial.
The Strabane train engine wae derailed at a sharp curve, and rolled down an embankment. Two carriages woro overturned, and thero were distressing scenes in the darkness. Many of the passengers were scalded "by steam. Three witnesses at the magisterial inquiry testified that Doherty was dnmk at the time of tho accident. One said that Fullerton also appeared to h? drunk. Ho estimated tho speed of the train when entering tho station at forty mileg'an hour.
