THE W.C.T.U. AND BIBLE'INSCHOOLS.
Sir,—My attention has been directed to an article in your issue of August' 25 .dealing with tho attitude of the Women's Christian Temperance Union towards the Bible-in-Schools question. In a letter written by the editor of " Tho White Ribbon," Kaiapoi is recorded as having discussed the matter, but no resolution " passed." May I icorrect that statement? At a largely attended meeting of the W.C.T.U., held_ in the afternoon of May 20, toconsider the nuestion of " Bible-in-Schools," a resolution was passed, with only two dissentients, strongly am>roving of tho nlatform of "The Bible in Stato Schools League," including a referendum. At a public meeting held in the evening the same resolution was carried unanimously. 'Both these meetings were organised by the W.C.T.U. I know of only three unions throughout the Dominion which have passed resolutions against the! platform of the league, and I believe that I am quite correct in saying that tho following unions, activelv support the league:— Auckland, Blenheim, Wnnganui, Timaru, Hamilton, Morrinsvillo. Palmerston, ..Fielding, Kaikorai, Kaianoi District,\jßangiora, Warkworth, Gishorne, Piipakura, Otautau, Westport,' Now Brighton,_ Greymouth, Waipawa, Otahuhu, Waiuku, and Whangarei. Thanking you for granting mn tho snace for making tliis correction] I ,am, NELLIE BLACKWELL, Hon. Sec. Kaiapoi W.C.T.U. September 10. TBy an oversight this letter has-been delayed in publication.']
