In spito of tho general uso of motorcars, it is a remarkable fact that tho entries of light horses at tho last two Hawke's Bay shows have been moro numerous than in any previous years, and the committee confidently expect another record year. The prizes offered by the -Hawke's Bay Society are most liberal, and this year being the jubileo year of tho society will bo no exception. Tho total special prizes, in addition to the society's prizes, amount to over £100 in harnoss, haoks, and ponies alono. Entries close on October 8.
