CULTIVATION IN BRAZIL.

Tho Government liad promoted their cultivation because of tlieii rapid growth, and their suitability foi railway sleepers, mid for the. purpose" of fuel for tho railway locomotives, tlw trains there being run mostly on wood fuel. Tho trees wero first' introduces into Brazil about .25 years ago, but their systematic culture was not undertaken till 10 years ago.
