The Public Prosecutor at Elberfeld has reopened the inquiry into tho case of Frau Hamm, who was sentenced iu 1908 to a long term of imprisonment for tho murder of lier husband, a peasant farmer. Her conviction was based on a report by tho l'olico Commissary at Borlin (sinco left tlio service), whoso mctliods the authorities liavo severely criticised. It is believed that Hamm was murdered by a burglar.
