At a mooting of creditors and sharo, holders of " The Now Zealand Oilfields;' tho official receiver reported that tiio prospectus sufficiently disclosed enormous profits to the promoters. It appeared that tlio original concessionaire was willing to sell liis interest for £50)000. Tho company paid' £110.760 for. it. Tho company started with a working capital of £52,500. Tho expenditure included £7600 to Mr. Mao donald for acquisition of the Gisborno Oilfields. This was dropped as the report was unfavourable, hut Mr. Mao donald retained tho cheque.
