SOME DOUBT.
'AS TO-.WHETHER MR. GRIFFITH .WILL ACCEPT. By Telerraph—Press Association—Oopyrleht Sydney, September 20. Thero is a possibility ot tho GriffithWade embroglio reaching an impasse. Mr. Wado has recoivcd a letter from Mr. Griffiths' solicitors informing him that thoy have bean instructed to issue a writ against Mr. Wado claiming damages in connection with what is described as "numerous false and malicious statements aitd charges of base corruption published by you against our client." Tho latter, however, refers only to charges made by Mr. Wado in February, 1912.
Mr. Wade, in: a letter in reply, demurs to tho raking up of an old charge. Ho stipulates that it and the recent charges (in connection with the voto of censuw over which Mr. Wado offered to wodvo privilege) should bo treated separately, and mado tho subject of two actions. Ho also stipulates that the actions should bo commenced not later tha,n October 20. and that Mr. Griffith should enter tho witnessbox and subimit himself to cross-exami-nation.
Thore is some doubt as to whether Mr. Griffith will accept the stipulations.
