; THE VICTORIA CQLLEGE OLUB. , Tho seventh annual meeting of tlie Victoria College Cricket Club was_ held recently, Professor Hunter presiding. The annual report and balance-sheet, a precis of which appo.irs below, was 'adopted. Officers elected for the forthcoming season were: —President-, Professor Hunter; vice-presidents, members of the Professorial Board and College Council and Messrs. J. P. Firth, A. C. Gifl'ord, M. Eichelbaum, E. D. Bell, R. W. Burbidge, G. Davoy, IV. W. Rowntree, and the Rev. 11. W. Monachal); captain, Mr. S. W. Dempsoy; secretary, Mr. A. E. Caddick; treasurer, Mr. A. W. Duncan; comniittee, Messrs. A. Miller, P. B. Broad, (J. Howe, and —.M'lntosh ; auditor, Sir. V. B. 'Willis; delegates to Wellington Cricket Association, Messrs. Dempsoy, J. Fanning, and Caddick. The annual report congratulated the club on a successful season. Tho senior team played 9 matches, winning 3 and losing C. The junior eleven was very nicressful. its record being:—Played 10, won 7, lost 2, unfinished 1. This learn gained tho position of runners-lip For the junior championship. M'lntosh bonded the senior eleven's batting aver- »«!•!*.. and J. V. Saunders topped the bowling averages, J. Dickson being a ir:)o>i 'second. In the junior eleven C. .Union.'. with an average <f 44 runs, headed tho batting list, and Duncan was top <>f til l ' bowling. 0. Howe, being I lie best Holder in I lie senior eleven, won .Mr. J. S. Barton's trophy.
