London, September 18. Boys attending tlio Dublin Catholio Cathedral School struck because now books had been supplied by a firm who had locked out tho transport workers. Tlioy attacked tho mastors with slates, injuring several. Two teachers had to bo sent to hospital. Owing to tho interruption, of shipping facilities at Dublin, several more nrmß havo locked out their employees.
LARKIN DENOUNCED BY A REVEREND FRIAR,. "Times"—Sydney "Sun" Special Cables. (Roc. Sept-ember 19, 6.10 p.m.) London, September 19. The Rov. John. Condon, Friar of the Augustinian Order, has denounced Larkin, the transport workers' strike leader, as a Socialist, and an unsafe leader for the Catholic workers. RAILWAY MEN OPPOSED BY THEIR LEADERS, PROBABLE COLLAPSE OF STRIKE. London, September 18. The executive of tlie Railway Men s Union considor that as no blackleg traffio was shipped from Dublin tho English railwaymen acted precipitately. The executive appeals for assistance in securing a fair and dignified settlement. It is expected that the railway strike will soon end, because the leaders are against it. ' Trouble is threatened on the NorthEastern Railway, owing to the refusal of the company to extend the principle of eight hours a day to all grades. (Reo. September 20, 0.35 a.m.) London, September 19. Tho conference of railway officials and strikers at Liverpool has result-ed in a deadlock. The companies offered to reinstate the strikers in ,their employment only if they promised to handle all goods. 'BUSMEN AND THE BADGE. PUBLIC WITH THE MEN. London, September 18. After three hundred and fifty of the employees of Tilling and Co. had struck the firm abandoned its objection to the wearing of tho union badge, and the dispute between them and the employees has now ended.
The public sympathised with the men. Tho strike showed signs of extending. The 'busmen now threaten a general strike unless' Tilling and Co. recognise tho union.: BUILDING DISPUTE SETTLED. ' London, September 18. The .building dispute in London has been settled. The masters have abandoned their demand for penalties for the breaking of agreements and interfering with nonunionists. Wages will bo increased by a halfpenny an hour.
