Newsholme, Chief Medical Officer of the British Local Government Benrd, in a repoTt on infantile mortality. In 1889-1905 the average death date was Ui per 1000 births; in 190G-12 tho average was 115 per 1000. To effect further reductions, says Dr. Newsholnie, closer inquiry must ba mode into local oonditious.
