AUCKLAND EXHIBITION.

s WHAT THE STATE IS DOING. A voto of £1000 for the Auckland Exhibition appears on tho Estimates for the Agriculture Industries and Commerce Department. In the House of Representatives last night Mr. G. Witty (Riccarton) drew attention to this voto, and asked tho Prime Minister if- he thought it was enough. Mr. Massey: No. Mr. Witty: I am glad to hoar that. The Department should do all it can for this Exhibition. In the south wo feel that it will bo for tlio benefit of tho whole of New Zealand. In reply, Mr. Massoy said that the Auckland Exhibition was going to bo of much more importance than was at first thought. Independent of tho prevalent epidemic ho was convinced it was going to be a tremendous success. Ho had authorised the Department to spend £2500 in exhibiting. (Southern members : Hear, hear!) Also ; said tho Prime Minister, other Departments will bo exhibiting. in addition to which £500 is on the Estimates for the A. and P. Show to ho hold during the term of tho Exhibition, in order to help to make it more representative of tho Dominion.
