Respecting tho wearing of miniatnro medals on fitting occasions by members of the Defence Forces (ex-volunteers, Territorials, or members of South African contingents), a dispatch from Downing Street states that any medal duly issued under authority from tho Crown to any former member of the forces may bo worn in miniature on proper occasions with evening dress. In accordance with established custom and tho Lord Chamberlain's instructions, medals worn with evening dress (plain clothes) should be in miniature, not in original, irrespective of the military rank held by tho owner when the medal was earn- . od.
