The statement of assets and liabilities in connootion with the State Coal Mines Department shows" n loss for the year ended March 31 last of £9989 10s. Id. On the credit side of the general account the following amounts are Bhown: . —Point Elizabeth Colliery working account, £6G,G2G 13s. 7d.; Seddonviil® .Colliery, £27,517 19s. 4d.; Wellington depot trading account (gross profit), £9614 14s. 5d.; Christchurch depot, £6516 12s. 9d.; Wangauui depot, £3019 Is. 4d.; Dunedin depot, £1796 15s. 7d.; to which has to be added Point Elizabeth Colliery rents, £52 3s. 6di Against theso amounts are the following expenses accounts Point Elizabeth Colliery, £74,056 3s. 2d.; Seddonville Colliery, £27,373 10s. Bd.; Wollington depot, £10,111 3s. lOd.; Christchurch depot, £6198 18s. Bd.; Wanganui depot, £2885 16s. 9d.; Dunedin. depot, £2014 17s. Bd. Tho loss (above noted) is made up as follows Point Elizabeth Colliery, £7377 6s. Id.; Wellington depot, £498 9s. 5d.; Dunedin depot, £218 2s. Id.; Wellington office furniture depreciation, £8 14s. Bd.; briquette works, £2484 ss.' 2d.: total loss, £10,584 17s. sd. Against that amount the following profits are shown: —Seddonville Colliery, £144 Bs. Bd.; Christchurch depot, £317. 14s. Id.; Wanganui depot, £133 4s. 7d.: total, £595 7s. 4d. Tho difference between tho two totals shows tho net loss—£99B9 10s. Id.
