A good fishing season can be cxpected in 'tho Auckland .district, according to the "Herald.' 1 The Acclimatisation Society has been busy tho whole year stocking all suitable streams in the district, and Mr. W. H. Hazard, president of the socioty, considers that this season will bo a, very successful one. The rivers of the King Country have received a good deal of attention, and streams in the neighbourhood of To Kuiti and further south, which have hitherto been "fished out" before tho season has been half over, should now provide constant sport for the man with the rod and reel. The Clevedon district has long been popular with city residents for its fishing, and tho Wairoa River and the soveral small streams in the same district should yield some good results. Lake Takapuna, which ~is very well stocked with trout, would be a most popular resort for fishermen but for its reedy banks. Despito this drawback ; it has a good number of patrons during the season.
