HOUSEWIVES' UNION

At a: meeting held in Petone last evening, it was decided to form a branch of the Housewives' Union of Now Zealand. There was a large attendance, and officers were elected. It was pointed out to the meeting by Mrs. Donaldson (from Wellington Branch).that one object of tho union was to call for tenders for commodities, and tho tradesman offer-, ing tlio best concessions would be guaranteed tho solid support of the union, which paid cash for every article. Another meeting will bo held at an earjy date.
