FALL THROUGH SKYLIGHT,

A fall through a skylight is usually attended, by more serious results till all ■was the case yesterday afternoon l , when a oa(rp enter named .Clarke had this, experience. Ho was repairing the roof at the shop of Mr. H. W. Lloyd 111 Cuba Street, and was moving a sheet of iron when a. (just of wind, catching the sheet broadside on) caused Clarko to lose liis balance. Stepping on to the skylight, he fell through, into the shop below, narrowly missing a table with his liead. Miss N. Bell, who was engaged at this table immediately under tho skylight, had just risen when tlho unexpected visitor arrived, or she would undoubtedly have been injured'. Clairko received sovero cuts, but otherwise was uninjured.
VAN ACCIDENT.
Mr. A. C. Wright, of the firm of A. C. "Wright and Co., carriers, Petone, met with a rather painful aicident yesterday afternoon. Ho 'liad completed' loading his van at Messrs. E. W. Mills and Co.'s Warehouse in Wellington, and having occasion to take tho van to another department ho drovo the horses without mounting, tlio van. by walking alongside. ' Tho wood-blocks happened to be slippery, and after walking a few yards Mr. Wright slipped and foil, the front wheel of the vehicle passing over his loft,leg, bruising it severely. TOLLS CLERK INJURED. G. E. Tidoy, a tolls clerk in tho employ of tlio Wellington' Harbour Board met with a painful accident on tho Ferry Wharf yesterday afternoon. Ho was endeavouring to place a gangway in position, when it' swung round and crushed his hand against a pile on the wharf. After being medically attended tho injured man proceeded to his homo at 100 Rintoul Street. . HEART DISEASE. Dr. M'Arthur, S.M., hold an inquest yesterday respecting the death of William Samuel Spring, aged 70 years, who died suddenly in tho street on Saturday. A verdict of death from heart disease was rotumcd. FATALITY ON S.S. ROSAMOND. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Cisborno, September 18. Robert Lloyd, an elderly wharf labourer, was working o'n tlio steamor Rosamond when a derrick fell and-Lloyd was killed instantaneously. CAUGHT IN SHAFTING. Clsborne, September 16. Thomas Cahill, whilst crushing maize, pot caught in tlio shafting. Threo fingers were torn from tho right hand, tho right arm was broken, and tlio loft log severely injured. He also received a "scalp wound.
