'ANNUAL MEETING.
Tho action of tlio Government and members of Parliament, in granting the military pensions was enthusiastically applauded at the annual meeting of the Wellington branch of the Nov; Zealand Association of 'his Majesty's veterans, which was held on Monday night in the Buckle. Street Barracks. "For once," saul a member, who is a leading labour light,, "a Government has been found that kcops and fulfils a promiso given." This was said after the deputation that waited on the Government had related tlrts promise given, and had stated that tlioy had never appealed to tlio Government again on tho matter, out had relied on their honour. Tho election of officers resulted as fol-lows:—Vice-president, Mr. F. W. Revill; secretary ami treasurer, Mr. S. Stidolph (13th year); auditor, Mr. ,F. Bland; delegates, Mr. H. Tingey and Captain E. Tregear; trustees, Mr. R. Tingo.v and Row D. C. Bates; committee, Messrs. C. P. Hulbert, W. Christie, Ilono Kaihi, W. G. Warrick, T. E. Brill, R. Tingey. and W. Buck. Deep regret was expressed at the Budden death of the Into Captain R. C. Hamerton. Several now mombora were elected.
