TO-DAY'S DINNER.
(Specially Written for The Dominion.) WEDNESDAY. Onion soup. Shepherd's pie. Potatoes. Spinach. Rhubarb pudding. Custard. ONION SOUP. Six largo' white onions, two ounces butter or dripping, two ounccß cornflour, two quarts water, 0110 pint inilk, salt and pepper to taste, croutons. Pcol the onion*, cut in slices from crown to root, make tlio fat hot, fry the onions without discolouring, add tho water, salt and pepper, and simmer gently till soft. Ilub.tiirough a. sieve and return to saucepan. Blond the cornflour with a little cold, water, when the soup is boiling stir it in and.cook for., a. minuto; add tho milk and season if. necessary. Bring .up to tho boil again ; and servo with croutons. FOR TO-MORROW. Stock, half a pint lentils soaked overnight, three or four pounds breast of mutton, forcemeat, pastry.
