' . QUIET DAY AT KARORI PARK. SENIOR FINAL TRIAL. Saturday was a very quiet day on tho hockey fields. Tho senior men played another trial game, which resulted in an easy win for tho A men by 7 goal's to nil. , The third-clasa gamo, Te Whaka (Canterbury) and tho Wellington Club third-class team was a comparatively interesting gamo, and ended in a draw. Tho weather and grounds wero perfect. Trial Game. Tho trial game was an uninteresting affair. The A team did pretty much as they pleased, and they 6<)ored seveji goals to their opponents' nil. Boyd, of the A team, appeared to tako things a littlo more seriously than most of the others, and ho found tho net four times. The - other scorers wero C. Strack (2) and G. Strack (1). Mr. C. P. M'Konzio was referee. After the match tho seleotors picked the following to represent Wellington next Saturday against the Auckland men:—Goal, Dwyer; full-backs, M'lildowned and Pullyn; halves, 11. Thompson, Campbell (captain), and M'Gregor; forwards, Griffiths, Boyd, G Strack, C. Strack, and Robbie. Emergencies: Haigh, Gaze, Sheeran, and K. Strack. Junior Camos. K.Y.M.I. easily defeated St. Mark's by 8 goals to nil. Emeny, M'Leod (2), Wiiittakor, and Jones (4) shot the goals. United (6) defeated Government, Insurance (2). For the winners, Little (2), B. Thompson, and Benge (2) scored whilo Norton and J. It. Stockman secured goals for the other side. Victoria College won by default from Karori. Third Class. The Wellington Club's third grado team (winners of tho competition) met Te Whaka, the third-class champions of Canterbury. .It was a fast game right until the end, both teams scoring one goal. ' Ashwin scored Wellington's goals and Te Whaka's goal wa<J scored by Rutherford. ■ The game ended in a draw. Mr. Gendall was referee.. Sohool Matchos. Kniori beat Mount Cook' B by 11 goals to nil. Watchman (2), Lowry (2), Forks, Holford (3), and Ccoper (3) scored. > Mount Cook A beat Te Aro by' 1 goal (Daly) to 0. Brooklyn woa from Clyde Quay by default. , Ladias' Junior Crade. Kiwi beat Technical School by 3 to 0. Miss Masters scared them all. WANGANJJI TOURNAMENT. SATURDAY'S RESULTS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Wanganui, September 13. The results at the ladies' hockey tournament to-day wcro.:— Section A.—Hawke's Bay drew with Manawatu, one goal each; fiuller defeated Taranaki, 3 "to 0; Wanganui defeated Canterbury, 6 to 1. Section B. —Wairarapa (13) beat Wanganui B (0); Wellington (3) beat Southland. (0), and Eketahuna (3) beat West Coast (2). HOW THE TEAMS STAND. With four niatctos played in each section, and ono still to go, the championship points aro: — A Section: Canterbury, 6; Hawke's Bay, 5; Wanganui, o; Mai.awatu, -1; Buller, 3; and Taranaki, 1. B Section: Wairarapa, 8; Wellington, 8; Southland, 4; Eketahiina, 2, West Ooast. 2; and Wanganui B, 0 - Wellington and Wairarapa still remain unbeaten, and they are to meet on Monday. Wairarapa, who were joint ohamuions last year, have not yet had a goal soored against them, and altogether have notched 83 goals. Wellington's tally ls®2o against 1.
