GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING. The monthly meeting of tho General Oommittco of tlio Mustertou A. and P. Association was held in tho association rooms on; Saturday, Mr. O. U. Cooper presiding. Mr. h. Kummer, of Mauriceville, wrote, suggesting that exhibits of wool on calico-be made at the show, with prizes for classing. Ho offered a contribution of ±12 2s. towards the prizes. Mr. Kummer was thanked for his suggestion, which was referred to the-Agri-cultural Committee. Tho Ciydes jalo Ilorse Society wrote, suggesting'.that tho association affiliate with tho society, and offering a prize of a bronzo medal for competition iiv tlio event of affiliation. It was decided that the association affiliate with the society. - - The secretary of the New Zealand Romney Marsh Breeders' Association forwarded a copy of volumo 9 of the association's Flock Book. It was decided to accept, the book with thanks. . A letter was read from Mr. B. E. Westmoreland, acknowledging the 'receipt of tho committee's decision in regard to a prize won. by his licrso at the last ishow, and donating tho prize money (£0) to tho association. After some discussion it was decided to thank Mr. Westmoreland for his, donation, and to inform him that .correspondence having since been received from Messrs. Guinness and Brown (the judges at the competition), the committee feels c-onfrdent tlio judges' card altered and initialled by. thorn and'tho marshal stewards was the correct and only award, and that any mistake made was tlio result of the ticket stewards taking down the numbers too liur'fiedly. The .Wellington Racing Club advised that a vote of £12 10s. was being made, as in former years, for the light horse classes at the association's show. The 'association- dccided to thank tho' club for- its offer, - : The-Agricultural Committee's report was read. Mr. E. Harper was rc-elected chairman for the ensuing year. Messrs. D. M'Gregor and A. B. Wood were appointed to meet officers of tho Agricultural Depaa'tmout and endeavour to securo u Departmental display of produce from this and outsido districts at the next Solwa.y show. It was resolved that, us there are many matters to be brought before tho proposed new Boarf of Agriculture, xho Government bo asked to bring forward t-ho necessary legislation for setting up the board with its little delay as possible. Tho secretary was instructed to write Mr. G. do S. Bayliss and ask him to visit Masterton, and ask him if tho Department will provido sufficient seed and manuro to plant five acres. It was decided to vote a sum of £0 annually towards establishing a library in the association rooms. The Finaneo Committee's report was also read. tMr. D. Caselberg was reelected chairman for tho ensuing wear. Tho treasurer rbporfed. receipts for the month amoant'iiig'to. £94 6s. i)'d;, and expenditure £66 14s. lOd. The debit balance at. the bank at date stood at £227 IGs. Bd. It was decided, 011 the motion of Mr. Coopor, t-hat it be a recommendation to the new Members' Committee to encourage Canvassing for lifo members. The secretary was instructed to issuo reminders re subscriptions in tlireo months. Other business of a roirtiuo character was transacted.
