THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications aro for moderate to Etrong southerly winds, backing by wost to northerly, northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and increasing nortliorlios elsewhere. Changeable and showery weather is probablo on the West Ooast ejid southern districts of tho South Island, but fair to cloudy generally. The barometer is likely to fall everywhere after about 24 hours, and unsettled conditions follow in the eariy part of the week. The l barometer rose every vrnere on Thursday night, and etrong southerly winds prevailod, with heavy showers. Improved conditions .have been reported generally to-day, and tho winds havo moderated.
