MINIATURE SHOOTING.
LOCAL TEAM MAKES WORLD'S RECORD. A world's rccord was established in tho Wellington Miniature Rifle Association competition last night. Shooting at a rai'.go of 25 yards, optical sights barred, with a jj-inch bull's-eye as targpt, the Clarkson Club made tho renyirkablo scoro of 399, ono below tho possible of 400. Tho proviou3 world's record is stated to havo been 396, and was put up in Yorkshire. The conditions were eight men a-side, ten shots,' and an optional sighter. Only two' sighters. wero taken by the Clarkson team. Tho following comprised the team:—Morris, Franklyn, E. Ballingor, W. 11. Ballingor, Walker, Tomline, I'udney, Spenccr. Two weeks ago tlio same club, shooting under tho samo conditions, scored 393 points, and beat the Australian record ; but a few days later the Harbour Board Club bettered this by two points , with a soore of 395.
