THE NEW LAND BILL.
(By Telegraph—Special Correspondent.) Auckland September 10. The now Land. Ml has beeu bailed with great satisfaction in .Reform circles in Auckland, and it was the chief topic of conversation at tlio Reform Club during the day. Thero is littlo doubt that it will meet with a chorus of approval in the .country constituencies of tho Auckland proviuco. Referring to tho Bill, tho "Herald" this morning says:—"Tho Bill will be receivod throughout the country with very diverse feelings by tho entire agricultural community, and by all who recognise that the prosperity of the State is interwoven with the prosperity of tho agricultural industry. It will bo greeted as a masterly and satisfactory measure, intelligently and sympatbeticilly designed to, restore agricultural confidence, to encourage agricultural confidence,,to encourage agricultural production, and to free settlers from tho depressing inllueneo of ill-advised legislation and unsuitable conditions. By thpsc who look upon tho settler as created to bo harassed and imposed upon, and who regard tlio agricultural industry as tho natural subject for fantastical experiments and unsympathetic interference, it will bo denounced as a scheme for gratifying the farmers at tho expense of tho State. Whatever prejudiced criticism ' may bo lovied -against Mr. Massey's new Land Bill, it is undeniable that it expresses tho unanimous wishes of tho agricultural community."'
