HISTORIC PAGEANT.
— » Tho pictorial poster competition in conncction with tho Boys' Institute Pageant is arousing interest amongst artists, and inquiries for conditions are being received at the pageant office from various parts of the Dominion. Entries close on Saturday next, and tho successful posters will bo exhibited at Mr. Wright's Gallery, on Lambton Quay. At a meeting of the department managers of tho D.i.C.,' hold last week a group depicting tho granting of tho Royal Charter to the Hudson Bay Company by Charles II was arranged. The group organisers are hard at work searching tho illustrated historical works for details of costume, so that the characters of their different groups may bo as historically correct fi3 possible. A meeting of tho conductors' of the bands that are to assist with the pageant music will be held at tho pageant office to-night. t
