STAKES AUCMENTED.

BY HAWKE'S BAY JOCKEY CLUB. (By Toloerapi.—Prooi Association.) Hastings, September 6. At a meoting of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club the programmo for the ccming season, showing a total increase in stakes .of £1640, was approved. Tho principal increases were: —Autumn meeting: Hawko's Bay Cup—From £400 to £700; Porangahau ■ Handicap, from £200 to £300; Nursery Handicap, from £124 to £250; Hurdlo Raco, from £120 to £250; Hawke's Bay Stakes, from £400 to £500; Burke Memorial, from £300 to £-100. Winter meeting: Total increase £360, including Bay Steeplechase, from £300 to £500; Juno Steeples, from £200 to £300. Plans of tho proposed now buildings (estimated to cost £18,930) were approved and tho work is to bo commenced after tho summer meeting and completed for the autumn meeting in May, 1914.
