e * o The popularity of the Sunday conf cert was again attested last evening when the Wellington Professional Or--6 chestra, under the leadership of Mr. 0 Christian Hellemann, gavo its fourth '• fortnightly conCort, of tho present sca- ' son, in His Majesty's Theatre. The building was crowded, and as on former y occasions, somo late arrivals wero un- >- ablo to find seats. The programme e selected was a very popular one, tho intermezzo from "Cavalleria Rusticana" .and tlio Barcarollo from "Tales of Hoffman," having to be repeated. Tho idyll "Dawn, by A.vE. Matt, was in--0 cliuled in last* evening's programmo by request, and was enthusiastically ap--7 plauded. Turning to tho more serious portion of the programme, Schubert's 4 "Grand March Heroique," player for e the first timo by the Orchestra, showed Bigns of •insufficient rehearsal, but the Orchestra made amplo amends by its l ' rendering of the overture ,T Mignon," 3 and it has seldom been heard to bettor 4 advantage than in tho overture "Oberbn," which was tho last itc'm on 9 the programme.
