OTAKI OLUB. For the Otaki men's golf medal, played during thrs week, tho best cards were: P. Simcox, 83—1.0 —70 ; Chnmberlnin, 03-~ 13—74 j Bacchus, 80=*-10=76,; Lyons,
100 —18 —82. P. Simcox and Bacchus did very good rounds, going out in 40 and 41 respectively, and coming home in 43 and 45. Chamberlain also played a good game, and for a long-handicap man his scores of 47 and 45. aro very promising. Tho ladies played a "bisquo bogy" for a trophy presented by Mr. K. S. Abiaham, with tho following result. Mrs. Winterburn, scr., 2 lip; Miss Efodgo,' handicap 8, !2 up (tio); Miss Simcox 6, 1 down; Mrs. Davies, 9, 2 down; Mrs. Simcox, 12, G down. Tho ladies will piny a "medal" next Saturday. Tho following players are left in tho men's championship: Brown plays Kirk, Bacchus plays Winterburn. Tho club will play two outside matches during this month, viz., Hutfc at Ot-aki on' September 22, and Manawatu at Otaki on September 30. A' PENDING CHAMPIONSHIP. Tho. Wanganui and West Coast g;olf championship meeting, which is being held under tho auspices of the Wanganui.Golf Club, will commence on Friday next. Entries will closo on Monday.
