To-day in. tho city and at Pctono a street collection is to bo taken up in aid of tlio So6icty for tlie Health of Women and Children.- Tho Plunket nurses are'so well known'by reason of their ministrations _in tlio cause of motherhood, that it is perhaps unnecessary to bespeak of tlio general public their practical sympathy in tlio noble work of tlio Plunket Society. > All 'arrangements are complete, and tlio lady members of the Julius Knight Company will assist in tlio street collection. Messrs. Fuller and Sons liavo generously sanctioned tlio taking up of a' collection at His Majesty's Theatre, King's Theatre, and tho Theatre Royal at tlio interval to-morrow evening;, and tho work will bo supervised by Mesdames Luke, M'Vicar and M'Lean. The New Zealand Rugby Union have granted tho society tho necessary permission to take up a collection at tho Athletic Park tliis afternoon, and tho privilege will bo availed or by tho collectors. Tlio firs,t donation to tho fund was an amount of. £6 from a lady sympathiser at Potouo.
