Tho funeral of Nolan, a civilian, who was killed 011 Saturday during the striko riots, was tho occasion of a remarkable demonstration in Dublin. Tho funeral cortege was two miles long. The mourners, numbering many thousands, tramped fivo miles to Glasnevin cemetery, where fifty thousand pcoplo had assembled. Tho crowd along tho route was excited and nervous. At ono spot the cry "Police!" was raised. Hundreds of shrieking women, many carrying babies, rushed into tho shops and hotels, tho procession being nearly deserted, except for a few pallbearers, until tho pipers at the head of tho procession restored calmness by resuming tho, playing of a dirge. APPEAL FOR A TRUCE. London, September 4. The Lord Mayor of Dublin haß appealed for a truce. Ho lias requested the employers and strikers ,tfa elect a j Conciliation Board. 1
