' No negligence," remarked his Worship, "has been shown on tho part o! the defendants, but tliey aro commoi carriers, and as such aro in tho nature of insurers, and as I do not considei that tho goods carried were injurec owing to inherent vice or natural dc terioratiou I think that the defendant! are responsible. It is admitted thai t'lio claim is a reasonable one if the do fendants are liable." Judgment wn; given for tho plaintiffs for £30 am costs. Mr. Peacock appeared for the plaintiffs and Mr. Levi for tho defendants. DEFENDANT WINS. In the civil suit, Frank Hodgson v. ' John Mo ran, a claim for £33 95., Mr, E W.
