Five persons have been detained in London in connection with tho £150,000 pearl necklace theft. It is reported that the police have recovered a portion of tho necklaco. (Rec. September 3, 11.45 p.m.) London, September 3. Tho suspects havo been charged with theft, and receiving stolon goods. Three of them wero arrested at a*tube station, after a struggle, and tho others wero arrested in a publichouse near Hatton Garden, whero somo of the accused havo offices. All aro well-known in London. It is understood that tho pearls were stolen in Paris and brought to London for disposal. Their efforts to sell them enabled Scotland Yard to effect tho arrests. ■ It is reported that a woman will figuro prominently in connection with tho jrrests.
