The last barrier at tlio Pacific end of tho Panama Canal lias been, blown up, 511 shots being fired. Tlio water flowed in quickly, and tlio dredges arc now clearing the, channel. Dredges will start clearing the Atlantic cud on September 2, and when t'his is completed tho canal will be navigablo for ships.
