PERSONAL NOTES EROM LONDON. London, July 24. This week Captain J. L. Era men, New Zealand Royal Garrison Artillery, is attached to tho Royal Garrison Ar- , tillery, Portsmouth, for instruction. Tho special correspondent of tho "Morning Post," writing from Aldershot of the divisional work under Sir Douglas Haig, saysr "Tho Now Zealand officer, Brigadier-General Davies, haß done exceedingly Well sinco he has been in command of a brigade in this country." Nelson'Hobson ' (formerly Miss Rita: Simpson, of Wellington),' at Wairoa, liedliill, Surrey, 011 July 11. ;• Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Begg, of Southland, who are at present staying in London, loavo in September for New Zealand. ' Mr. H. Weston, of New Plymouth, who is at present at the Langham Hotel, returns to Now Zealand shortly. Miss Eva Overton, of Devonport, intends remaining in England for somo time, and will travel in the provinces. Mr. G. P. Donnelly leaves ' London in August for Montreal, sailing by tho Niagara, from Vancouver on September 3. Mr. Daniel G. Mowat, architect, of Dunodin, intends remaining in London twelve or eighteen months, studying at the Royal Acadciny of Architecture. Mrs. E. 11. Blencowc, of Auckland, has been in England for some months, and visited Devonshire, Kent, Surrey, and Sussex. She intends to reside in London winks her family is being educated. Mr. Robert Milligan, of Oamarn, is at present staying with relatives in tho south of Scotland. He proposes making an extensive'tour of Great Britain, and before returning to Now Zealand will spend about six weeks on the Continent. Mr. Alfred H. Caudwell, of Auckland, spent somo time in tho Rocky Mountains and Canada, and Chicago and Now York before coming to England. Ho spends three months here, touring the country, then leaves for New Zealand, via Franco and Switzerland. — Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Brown, of Christchurch, are visiting Great Britain, after an absence of 34 years, and sinco their arrival havo been visiting friends in Cornwall and Devonshire. They are in London now, but go down later to Cornwall and Devonshire, and sail for New Zealand by tho Orama in October. . • Mr, T. Chamberlin-Chamberlin and Mr. Paora-Chainborlin wero among tho guests of tho 1000 Club on July 18.
