A young man named Alfred Britton reported to tho police that while he and another young man, Charles Jones, were J hunting on Mount Faulkner on WedL nesday last, Jones accidentally shot J himself. Britton has now confessed that ho shot Jones. .Ho stated, that after hunt- ~ ing all the morning, the pair made another start in tho afternoon, when a disputo arose about V'ho", was to use ,a " double-barrelled, gun. Jones clicked the hammer of the gun at Britton, and the l latter pointed his gun and pulled tho trigger. Jones fell dead. Britton declares that he did not know the gun was loaded.
