Rhodes) con*j sidercd it necessary to issue tho follow* ing warning to the public;— ■ "For Uieir own conveuieaioo, I desire to impress upon tho travelling public Wig necessity of vaccination, especially in tho cases of those proceeding down from the Auckland' province. Official's certificates endorsing tile fact of successful vaccination can bo obtained free of chairgo .from tho authority of any of tlio District Health of Auckland, Christcktirch, Wellington, and Dunedin. "I strongly advise thoso who liavo 'been successfully vaccinated, and who contemplate travelling (oven though not in the nest fotv days), to obtain theso official certificates or 1 passes'at tho earliest opportunity. "It may bo (though I sincerely trust sudb will not bo tho caso) tliat, at any moment, the Government may havo to require further . precautions to provcavt any increasing spread of tlio smallpox epidemic. It is consequently just as well for those who liavo' been vaccinated to secftiro certificates, which will prevent any incotnvenicnco to them' tvhon travelling." Yesterday's Bulletins. From tllio wording of the message it is obvious enough that the Department has reason- to think tliat tho danger is still present. Two bulletins wero issued! yesterday, Tho first, which dealt with, the situation up till 5 p.m. on Thursday, was as follows:—"Tlio District Health' Officer, Auckland (Dr. Monk), reports:'' "Three cases woro reported in Auckland! city—one a contact from the.: samoj house as caso last reported'. Country* news.better, both from Upper and Lowoa Wa.ikato." Tho second bulletin was dated 5 p.mJ yesterday. It was as follows: —"Tho' District Health Officer, Auckland (Diy Monk), reports: 'One caso is reported from Orake.i. Six cases are suspected at MatnHii. One caso at Mangauntka,' Hokianga. Two cases at Rauktaoa, Kai-' liolio. The Departmont states that all three cases in Auckland city are Europeans. They came respectively from Queen Street, Turner Street (tho con-', tact referred to in the bulletin), and Vincent Street. One or tho cases was that of a man who liadl como from Thames on Wednesday/ When, ho was discovered on Thursday, the vessel on which lie, journeyed hate returned to Thames.
