LAND BILL IN NEW SOUTH WALES J By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, August 29. In tho Logislativo Assembly tho Closor Settlement Bill was read a second time. The Bill provides for the proclaiming of certain areas within fifteen' miles of a railway or thirty miles of the River Murray to bo land-locked areas, and unless the owners cultivato a giveii area within a certain timo a tax will be imposed. The Bill also facilitates the cutting up of estates by providing for tho payment by Treasury Bills at 4 per centum. Annual payments ,by the settler aro also provided for. Tlieso payments will be collected by tho Government and paid to the vendor, the Government issuing a negotiable certificate for tho amount of the purchase money.
