Tho death is announced of Mr. I. Hickory .Wood, the pantomime librettist. Mr. Wood was for a time an apprentice in a home-trade warehouse in Manchester, and later became an insurance secretary. Ho then entered on a literary and dramatic oareer. His publications include "Becitations—Comic tuid Otherwise," "Soliloquies," "Tho Life of Dan Leno," "Chronicles of Mr. I'ottorsby," pantomimes, songs, and musical pieces. MR. "Quaritch's" is widely known to bibliophiles. The firm buys and 6ella old books and manuscripts, scientific and standard books. Mr. Quaritch_ was also an' occasional publisher of important works on antiquity. The founder of tho business died in 1899.
