OLD MAN'S SAD END.
' Invorcarglll, August 28. While two men named M'Donald and Mason wore proceeding .1 bug the road , in tile vicinity of Lumsden thov woro attracted by tho peculiar behavior of a dog. Tho men followed tho animal to some rushes where 'a man named David Muir lay; and by h'B side was a whisky flask. He was removed to comfortablo surroundings and looked aftor by the men, but expired. Next morning an inquest was held. Evidence was given to tho effect that deceased was sixtv years of age and single, without any relatives in New Zealand. Ho was employed at, tho Centre Hill Station, near Lumsden. A verdict- was returned that death was due to heart failure brought about by exposure wlnlo in indifferent health.
