A petition in bankruptcy has been filed bv Rangi Thompson, jockey, of Taradale, tho liabilities being £283 Os. Bd. There are no assets. _ At the annual meeting of tho Napier Chamber of Commerce, held yesterday, the following resolution was carried: "That the Napier Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with other Chambers of Commerco in tho Dominion, pc- , ftition Parliament to get the law dealing with Maori debts amended so that where Maoris havo rents coming to them the said rates should be attachable as in the case of Europeans.
