HISTORICAL PAGEANT.
11l tho Mayor's room of the Town Ilall last night there was a very satisfactory attendance at a meeting of tho group organisers of tlio Historical Pageant which is to tako place in Newtown Park in October in aid of the Boys' Institute. Tho Pageant Master (,Mr. Silver) reported on tho progress being made by tho different groups. Tho following names wore added to tlio sub-committees: —Major O'Sullivan to the Stalls Committee; Mr. Lachlan as convener of the Lighting Committee; Miss Hamilton as secretary of the Costume Committee, in tlie absence of Miss Keynolds. The JUisical Committee, to consist of the bandmasters of the bands who are assisting at the pageant, with Mr. C. Hellemann and the Pageant Master; the Press Committee, Mr. "Watkins, Miss Brandon, and Miss Cain, with power to add to their number. It was decided that the tableaux be produced 011 tlie east and west sides, and if necessary the south sido of Newtown Park. Mrs. J. Hannah was appointed convener of the sub-committee to arrange stage effects and furniture. It was suggested that the groups bo asked to reproduce their tableaux at a bazaar in the Town Hall, taking placo tho week following the pageant.
