EDUCATION BOARD.

Tho Wellington Education Board met, yesterday. ' Mr. R. Lee presided, and there were present, also, Sir Walter Buchanan, Messrs. Moss, W. Allan, J. G. W. Aitken, W. Field, H. Freeman, A. W. liogg, and J. Kebbell. Grants as follow were authorised: — Newman, blinds, concrete Hoors in sheds; Waterfalls, residence, refund of cost -of extra work; Kilbirnie, halfcost fencing; Epuni, removal of galleries (subject to the condition that' tho rooms are not used for dancing); Mt. Cook Girls', blocks for desks; Newtown,' now grate; Newtown, grant towards asphalting; Worser Bay, tank; Horoeka, residence, verandah breakwind ; Ponatahi, fencing; ICahutara, extra grant for grading; Tauoru, half-' cost ground . improvements; Muritai, grading, half-cost; Makuri, draughtsashes; Paraparaumu, addition to residence ; and Dyer, subsidy on improvements. '

Other business is reported elsewhere. The following tenders wero accepted: —-Fernridge, improvements to fencing, W. H. Watson; painting, W. 11. Cole. Ekctahuna, repairs and painting, J. H. Rashley; Mount Cook Girls' School, drainage, J W. Martin; Paraparaumu, additions/J. L. Bowkett; Hamua, residence improvements, Hoar and Baillio; infant department, training college, Kelburne, .W. Ht Bennett.
