VIOLIN RECITAL.
Miss.Mario Motto has evoked the following comments from a well-known musical journal: "Miss Motto is a violinist of quite exceptional gifts. , . . She has fire, warmth, colour, poise, daintiness, grace, elegance, and fantasy— all_ theso in their proper places, and an innate suavity and refinement withal. Whilst Miss Motto is temperamental, her readings never degenerate into sentimentality. Her temperament is always under the control of an eminently sane and well-balanced mind. In fine Miss Motto is primarily a cultivated musician who has wisely chosen the violin as the instrument by means of which sho can most surely and effectively express herself. The violinist gavo a delightful reading of tho Tschaikovsky serenado, Tho Lully Gavotto was played in fine stylo with unfailing good • taste. Tho Hungarian dances (Brahms —Joachim) wero full of fire, warmth, and colour, and Miss Motto has a remarkable feeling for rhythm." Her recital will take place in the Sydney Street Schoolroom tomorrow at 8 p.m.
