BIBLE IN SCHOOLS.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) New Plymouth, August 25, Tlio Kov. P. AV. Glarkson, who has just completed a successful Taranaki campaign in support ol' the Bible-in-Stato Schools League, gave a public lecture to-night. The following resolution was unanimously carried : —That this meeting is in favour of tho plat-, form of tho league, and pledges itself to support tho demand for tho'referendum. Tho Anglican and Presbyterian congregations of New Plymouth yesterday stood at the end of the- services as a protest against Mr. A. R. Atkinson's reported words: —"That it was very singular that tlio forces working for tho Bible-in-schools movement woro a. mixture of religious bigotry and political cant/'
