PAYING 25/-AN ACRE FOR FREE HOLD LAND CAPABLE OF PRODUCING SPLENDID CROPS OF TURNIPS,. CLOVER, ETC. * That is what investors securing shares in the Waiotapu Estates Development Company, Ltd., have now the opportunity of doing. This Company has purchased 13,150 acres of splendid pumice land on the Waikato lUver, well watered, and almost all easily pionghable. On the pumice land in tho Waiotapu district two tons of oat chaff to tho acre have been cut. Other crops grow splendidly on this land—clover grows in such luxuriance that the aftermath alone after cutting, forms what would be considered a good crop; turnips grown in tho Waiotapu vicinity have cairied off prizes in Auckland, Waikato, and Palmerston. North Shows, and in this connection it is interesting to note what the Special Commissioner for the "New Zealand Herald," Auckland, reports. Writing in the "New Zealand Herald" of February 15, 1913, he says:—"l know a shrewd Southern farmer, who is now working a pumice land farm, who assures nie that he can make hia turnip crops pay all tho cost of putting pumice country into permanent pasture." The capital of tho Waiotapu Estates Development Company, Ltd., is .£20,000, divided into 20,000 shares of .£1 eacli. This allows for the purchase of the Waiotapu Block at 255. per acre, for the cultivation of a portion of it for pur-poses-of demonstration, for surveys, subdivision, and cost of re-selling. It is estimated that the land, when subdivided into convenient-sized farms, will bring easily -63 or .£3 10s. per acre. On a ' basis of iC3 per acre, a profit of 100 per cent, return on the capital invested is secured, while if a higher price is given, a correspondingly higher profit'is secured to the Company. A limited number of shares in the Waiotapu Estates Developmenf Company, Ltd., are now available, and intending investors are advised to write to A. T. Bate, Sharebroker, Nathan's Buildings, Corner of Grey and Featherston Streets, Wellington, or call personally for the printed particulars, with tho locality map and photographs of crops, and any further information which they may require.
