JACK JOHNSON'S APPEARANCE IN .VAUDEVILLE. Br Tfllacrash.—PreEß Association—OodttlbM ("Time3"—Sydney "Sun" Special Cables.) London, August 24. Jack Johnson is in London. He declares that he will certainly fulfil his engagement to appear on 'tho variety stage. Mr. W. A. Coote, secretary cf tho National Vigilance Association, in a letter to tho press, says that Johnson's appearance oil tho variety stage is a vulgar insult to tho American j)eoplo. He adds that incidents of less importance have called for ambassadorial interference.
"WILL DRAW X COLOUR LINE. (Rec. August 25, 10.30 p.m.) London, August 25. Johnson has been hooked to appear in London for a month and ho will then proceed to tho provinces and Ireland. Asked ■ whether "lie intended to fieht Langford, Johnson replied that ho did not, but intended to draw a colour lino liko some other actors.
