THE. CHARITY CUP MATCHES, Charity Cup matches were commenced on Saturday .aftcirnoon, when Rovers and Brooklyn United played a. drawn gamo. It was intended that this match should have been played on tho Basin Reserve, but, on account of tlio heavy Tain, it took place on Miramar No. 12. When time was called', the scores wore evon, and even after another twenty minutes' 'play neither side had the advantage. The position _ is, therefore, that Rovers will be requiredto play Brooklyn United again next Saturday. . ' The ground was in anything but playing order, and a cold wind_ swept the field. Water was much in evidence, and in fact one wondered why the match had not been postponed altogether. Evidently some of tho Brooklyn United men were of the same opinion; as it was seen, when the teams lined out, that tho hill suburb only . 'numbered four. For Ravers, Dniry and Crowther scored goals, and Smith (2) and Davis Scored for Brooklyn UnitedJUNIOR GAMES. : Thistle and Toa met at Miramar, and after.a very even tussle Thistle won by 4 to 3. Cobum (2) and Palmer (2) scored for the winners, and Foster, Kerehone, and Coburn for the losers.' Brooklyn United won by default from St John's.
