BOOTH MEMORIAL.

"THE PASSING OF 'A. SAINT." , Tile Petono corps of the Salvation Army held a memorial service, to tho late General William Booth last evening. Tho hall was well filled. Tho speaker's rail was decorated with white and red, intern-oven with yellow flowers, with a, photograph of the late General in tho centre. Mrs. Hoare and Brigadier Carmichaol conducted tho Service, Mrs. Iloare was in London at the time of tho General's death. . She represented New Zealand at tho funeral, carrying the New Zealand flag in the procession. Mrs. Hoare desoribed tho General's death as "tho passing of a saint of God and tho apostle to the poor." Sho laid stress ' upon tho message that was sent forth to tho world:,"The General has laid down his sword; God is' with lis." Mrs. Carmichael sang, feelingly, "Looking This Way."

A commemorative service in respect to tho demise of General Booth, tho founder of tho Salvation Army, who died on August 20, 1912, was'conducted in tho Citadel, Vivian Street, last evening. Major Colledgo presided. Spocial music was contributed by tho Salvation Army Silver Band and by vocalists.
