PULLER DIVORCE CAUSE. DECREE GRANTED, The hearing of tho petition of Joha Fuller, jun., for dissolution of liis marriage with. Gortnulo Fuller, witli Henry Percy Harris as co-respondent, wag concluded yesterday afternoon. His Honour Mr. Justica Chapman wag on tho Bench. Mr. T. Young', with, whom was Mr. M. Myore, appeared as counsel for Fuller; Mr. T. M. Wilfbrd, with liim Mr. P. W. Jackson, appeared for Mrs. Fuller; and Mr. Craoroft Wilson represented Harris. Almost the Whole afternoon was occupied with addresses by Messrs. Wilfonl and Myers. Tho jury retired at 5.40 p.m. and returned to Court a,t 8.45 p.m. with a. raajority verdict (11 to 1) for ilho petitioner. His Honour granted a deoreo nisi for three months, tho petitioner to have .interim custody of tho child. Mr. Wilford objected to tho interim order, but His Honour (Mined! to entertain tho objectionSINGER'S FEE. CHORAL SOCIETY & MR. NEWBURY. In tho Supreme Court yesterday, Mb Honour Mr. Justice Sim licu.nl an appeal from a decision of Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M. Some time last year, Philip Newbury, a professional singer, sued tho Royal Wellington Oh'oral Society for .£lO 10s., as tho balanco of a fee for singing in the society's production of "Cavalleria Rusticana." Newbury's fee was 25 guineas, but as ho did not attend the final rehearsal for tho piece, tho society paid him only 15 guineas. His suit for the ten guineas balance succeeded beforo Mr. Riddell, S.M., and it was against this judgment that tho society now appealed. Mr. A. W. Blair, with him Mr. R. .H. Wobb, appeared for the society, and Mr. P. H. Putnam for Newbury. Decision was reserved.' ARBITRATION. CLAIM ON UNION CO. FAILS. Tho Arbitration Court's judgment was delivered by Mr. Justice Sim in the case of Julius Barth v. tho Union Steamship Company of New Zealand, Ltd., a ffaliganui matter. Plaintiff was assisting in the disohargo of the steamer Kittawa at Wanganui on January 31 last. Ho was working in the hold. A basket of coal which was being sent up capsized, and the contents of it fell on the plaintiff and injured his back. Ho was paid compensation up to May IG, but alleged that he was still suffering from tho effects of tho accident, and claimed further compensation. Judgment was for tho defendant company. BANKRUPTCY. Tho next sitting of the Bankruptcy Court in Wellington will bo held on October 4, commencing at 10.30.a.m. Tho business so far sot down is the adjourned bearing of tho application of W. G, Sommorville for discharge.
